Restorative

Deep relaxation of the body, mind and spirit, using props.

A style of yoga practice using props and postures held for longer periods of time to initiate deep relaxation of the body, mind and spirit. Restorative yoga is beneficial to balance a more active practice or decompress after a stressful day.

Level 1-2 30 mins

Bring your body back into balance in this sequence that stays low to the ground in supine, seated, or side-lying poses. Move slowly through prop-supported realignment techniques and positions that focus on the pelvis and the entire length of the spine, including the thoracic and lumbar. This class previously aired on March 13, 2023.

Welcome the magic of restorative postures, allowing you to relish in rest. Embrace relaxation as you massage your body from the inside out using deep breathing, Supported Goddess, Supported Bridge, Supported Child’s Pose, Legs Up The Wall, and Supported Spinal Twist. This class previously aired on February 22, 2023.

Allow your breath to gently guide you through these restorative postures to release deep tension. Create space in your side body, shoulders, hips, thighs, and spine with side-lying poses and upright and supine Baddha Konasana.

This gentle and relaxing class includes a supine thoracic expansion, Restorative Bridge, Supported Twist, and Supta Baddha Konasana. Plus, enjoy a reading from Yoga Sutra 1.33 and a Nelson Mandela quote on the nature of humans to be loving. This class previously aired on February 15, 2023.

Replenish your body in a subtle, supportive kind of way. This practice features prop-assisted, restorative movement to renew your energy. Poses include Virasana, Lateral Half Dragonfly, Supported Forward Fold, and a 10-minute Savasana. This class previously aired on February 1, 2023.

This practice moves slowly through restorative postures to help quiet your thoughts, leaving you feeling harmonious in mind and body. Find relaxation while in Mountain Brook Pose, a twist, Child’s Pose, and Legs Up The Wall or Savasana. Bring any combination of props for extra support. This class previously aired on January 15, 2023. Though not intended to be a Prenatal practice, this class can be prenatal-friendly if you are a seasoned practitioner moving through pregnancy. Please note: Practicing yoga while pregnant is for those who have a low-risk pregnancy and have gotten the green light from a doctor or midwife to practice.
