Jo offers over 15 years of experience in leading Vinyasa Flow classes that are devoted to creating a sacred space in which you can channel energy towards transformative and life affirming means. This is done through intention, dedication, prayer, conscious breath, sound and movements that reflect radical self care in the truth of the moment. Vinyasa is an unhurried exploratory and creative flow that is steeped in the traditions of yoga master Krishnamacharya and the yoga traditions of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga. With over 20 years of practice and devotion to the healing arts including; meditation, Shiatsu & 5 Element Theory, Energetic Bodywork, Prenatal/Post Natal yoga, Nutrition, Anatomy/Physiology and Core Shamanism; Jo brings into the practice a reverence for the mystery of life and encourages all students to practice with spontaneity by stepping into the unknown.
Yoga
This practice combines mobility techniques into a flowing sequence to work your entire body, with a focus on the shoulders, feet, knees, hips, and spine. Full of variety and options, expect lots of short and powerful movements and exercises. Start with shoulder mobility, then move through a spinal flow, core work, arm strengthening, Down Dog to Dolphin, Down Dog to Up Dog, Squat variations, and Tabletop work. (No Savasana included.) Yoga
A meditative and spacious practice, this class takes time in postures in an unhurried way. As Jo says, “Slowing down is a remedy for our modern times.” You’ll begin with breathwork, then flow through a slow-paced sequence that builds into challenging balancing postures. Highlights include Cobra rolls, Side Plank variations, Tree Pose, Eagle Pose, Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended Hand-To-Big-Toe Pose), Dolphin, and backbends. Yoga
A healthy back requires both stretching and strengthening; this class offers a comprehensive approach to improve your back strength and mobility. No Vinyasas included, expect lots of individual exercises as you move through Locust, Superman, Tabletop core work, Low Lunge variations, Plank and Side Plank, High Lunge, Warrior III, Bridge, and twists, then land in a brief Savasana to finish.
