Jo offers over 15 years of experience in leading Vinyasa Flow classes that are devoted to creating a sacred space in which you can channel energy towards transformative and life affirming means. This is done through intention, dedication, prayer, conscious breath, sound and movements that reflect radical self care in the truth of the moment. Vinyasa is an unhurried exploratory and creative flow that is steeped in the traditions of yoga master Krishnamacharya and the yoga traditions of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga. With over 20 years of practice and devotion to the healing arts including; meditation, Shiatsu & 5 Element Theory, Energetic Bodywork, Prenatal/Post Natal yoga, Nutrition, Anatomy/Physiology and Core Shamanism; Jo brings into the practice a reverence for the mystery of life and encourages all students to practice with spontaneity by stepping into the unknown.
Yoga
Target your legs, core, arms, and back to build strength using functional mobility training and a set of weights. Explore this style of movement in your yoga flow to enhance mobility and coordination. Get straight into it with Rows in Lizard, Low Lunge, Skandasana (Side Lunge), standing twists, 90/90 exercises, and Bridge, then cool down with stretches before finishing with a brief Savasana and chant. Meditation
Welcoming new and seasoned practitioners alike, this class explores Alternate Nostril Breath with meditation for a rejuvenating and calming practice. This breath technique is known as a balancing breath, activating the sun and moon channels in the subtle body. Class is done entirely seated and is great to practice anywhere, including at your desk. Yoga
This dynamic practice is packed with continuous movement and fresh challenges, peaking to a new posture, Triang Mukha Eka Pada Paschimottanasana. You’ll explore powerful elements for strength and flexibility and also receive moments for pause and reflection. Begin with a kneeling lower-body warm-up sequence, then move through a creative flow with Warrior II, Half Moon, and Standing Splits before reaching the peak posture.
