Yoga

Level 1-2 60 mins

Through the qualities of dedication and discipline you can discover tremendous freedom and expression. Class begins with an extended series of Warm Ups and Standing Poses to build stamina and endurance. With focus on moving from your deeper inner power to create a graceful outer strength. Opening has several linked Standing Poses including Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon) and Uttkatasana (Chair). Continues with Malasana (Garland) and Standing Leg Balance in Natarajasana (Dancer). Concludes with Back Bends in Setu Bandha (Bridge) and Seated Spinal Twist.

This is a grounding practice that invites the practitioner to explore releasing unnecessary resistance and observing the play of breath and mind. Subtle actions create intelligent movement and a centering energy. The class includes hip openers, squats, forward bends and twists culminating in Pavritta Parsvakonasana. The pace is slow but the class is strong!

Explore personal power and the strength of your own resolve and discipline to manifest. Start with savasana and breathwork into the belly, followed by a little taste of abdominal work leading into sun salutation (surya namaskar). Our main flow ignites a fire with crow (bakasana), side plank and boat. Backbends include locust/bridge/bow, with free time and guided savasana with visualization to finish.

It can make your mind clear and action-oriented, strengthening your ability to focus on life's many tasks. Practice cultivating surya energy with this sweet, warming kriya. Move through a series of simple exercises that systematically stimulate your pranic force and kundalini energy. A great class to incorporate into your daily routine, or to make a forty-day practice. Enjoy an all around flow of standing poses like standing half moon for side body opening, goddess and warrior flows for strength and patience, and back bends (ustrasana) and hip openers to ground and settle your practice. Walk away with a new perspective.
