Barre

A low-impact strength, cardio, and endurance workout inspired by ballet, yoga, and Pilates.

Barre is a low-impact, high-reward, full-body workout inspired by ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It’s a style of training that combines strength, cardio, and endurance using high repetitions and a small range of movement to develop strength and flexibility from the ankles through the calves, knees, thighs, glutes, and abdominals. Not only does it sculpt stronger, more defined muscles, but it also promotes better posture, balance, and range of motion.

Level 2 30 mins

A low-impact burn that uses Barre and strength exercises to sculpt your entire body. Plus, learn how to easily incorporate an encouraging mantra into your practice for total-body self care and mindful movement. This class begins with core engagement, Chest Curls and Criss-Cross abs while lying on the mat, then traditional Barre Plies and Attitudes with pulses. Finish with a challenging plank series. This class was previously recorded on July 7, 2021. Props Required: a barre or surface.

A slow-paced, ballet-inspired class that challenges balance and builds flexibility. Focus on creating grace and space using the breath to find length throughout the body, and using the barre to enhance specific stretches and poses. Props Required: a barre, chair, or wall as support.

Whether you're new to ballet or have ballet technique, these classic ballet exercises will challenge your body and mind to create more balance and strength in your glutes, thighs, feet, and ankles. Progress through a classical ballet workout including Pliés, a series of Tendus, Dégagés, and Frappés. This class was previously streamed on May 24, 2021. Props Required: a surface, or barre.

A fusion of uncomplicated core ballet moves and barre exercises that focus on micro-movements to target the legs and glutes. This sequence includes Toe Taps, Plie, Arabesque and Attitudes, followed by a cool-down of hip stretches, foot flexion, and Figure-Four. Props Required: a chair or surface.

Increase flexibility with this slow and easy Barre workout that combines stretching with core work. Feel the full length of your body with Roll-Downs, Three-Legged Dog, Kneeling Oblique Stretch, Donkey Kicks, and a Supine series followed by Happy Baby. This is a great workout on an “off day”.
