A low-impact strength, cardio, and endurance workout inspired by ballet, yoga, and Pilates.

Barre is a low-impact, high-reward, full-body workout inspired by ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It’s a style of training that combines strength, cardio, and endurance using high repetitions and a small range of movement to develop strength and flexibility from the ankles through the calves, knees, thighs, glutes, and abdominals. Not only does it sculpt stronger, more defined muscles, but it also promotes better posture, balance, and range of motion.

Introduce yourself to “center” exercises, using a barre to find balance and strength through a challenging, classical ballet routine. With encouragement to take it at your own pace — and have fun — this sequence moves briskly through Pliés, Tendus, Ron de Jamb, Sous-sus, and more, with added turns and moves throughout. We suggest taking Ballet-Barre Burn Foundation before this class. This class previously aired on September 7, 2022.

Shape your classical ballet technique to gear up for more advanced sequences; a great class for beginners or seasoned practitioners. Focus on balance — using your mind-body connection — while practicing Barre exercises that progresses through Pliés, Tendus, Dégagé, Passé, Battement, and Sous-sus. This all-encompassing, fierce Barre class moves from your upper body to your core to your lower body with focused exercises that strengthen and tone each area. Start with arm work like Lateral Raises and Bicep Curls, then Crunches, Donkey Kicks, and Lunges before finishing with a final core series. Add light hand weights to intensify your burn! Sweat through repeating rounds of resistance work that targets your glutes and hamstrings. Build strength that contributes to your body’s alignment and supports you while walking, running, sitting, and standing.
