In Ashtanga Yoga, up dog gets half a breath during each vinyasa. Sit through a brief explanation and demonstration of how your spine works in back bending. Practice lengthening every up dog to 5 breaths, balance with forward bending asanas and work other backbends like wheel and purvottanasana. Focus on your up dog alignment and breath as part of a heart opening half primary series practice.
