Have fun and get your cardio fix with a fast-paced Pilates-dance fusion workout. This class will break down the steps but keep you moving, so you get a full-body workout in a short amount of time. Warm-up with grapevines and jumping jacks, move through both standing and mat ab work, then get a final heart rate boost with dancer burpees and kicks before a quick cool down.
It goes without saying that a pre and post ski/snowboard practice should unwind tension in your quads, hamstrings, outer-hips, and lower-back. This practice does exactly that. This sequence will also dive deeply into a region of the body that can easily be neglected but is just as important for these sports: the feet, ankles, and calves. If you practice these sports, you definitely need this practice.
Holiday stress relieving class so that we can really get the most out of spending time with out families and loved ones. According to the Yoga Sutras, 'Santosha' or the observance of contentment is one of the ways we can relieve mental stress. This short and sweet class takes us through a brief talk on 'santosha' and how we can practice more gratitude in our daily lives, then asana, pranayama and meditation as a way of balancing the energies of the body which are all ways that support contentment (santosha). We flow through Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar C & B) to heat the body, forward bend Head-to-knee (Janua Sirsasana) to further calm the nervous system, Bridge and Downward facing Bow (Urdhva Danurasana) to open the physical and energetic heart and hip opener to finally release tension stored in the pelvis. Finish with alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Sodhana Pranayama) and gratitude meditation.
Learn how to nurture and detox your body through the holidays. This class focuses on core work and twists to aid in digestion, detox and deep core appreciation. Enjoy the decadence of the holiday season with the balance of your practice. Trust your gut!
Get moving and grooving with a powerful vinyasa sequence that flows briskly from one post to the next. Build on the foundations of sun salutations A, B, and C with poses that will challenge your balance. With options to modify or intensify for all levels, this dance-like flow will likely bring on the sweat.
Antidote for holiday excess? Stimulate healthy digestion and elimination with a gentle sequence of twists alternating with abdominal strengtheners and forward folds. Take a break two hours after or one hour before you eat to enjoy your food even more.
