Mother, mentor, poet, artist, volunteer, bestselling author, and host of the Practice You Podcast, Elena Brower has taught yoga and meditation since 1999. After graduating from Cornell University in 1992, she designed textiles and apparel for almost a decade before shifting her focus to yoga, meditation, art, and writing. Her first book, Art of Attention, has been translated into seven languages; her second, Practice You, is a bestseller. Elena's first collection of poetry, Softening Time, was released in May 2023. Elena works to elevate bright futures for girls, women, and children through her support for Girls on Fire Leaders, On The Inside, and Free Food Kitchen. Her spoken word poetry can be heard on Above & Beyond's Flow State albums, and she's commencing Buddhist Chaplaincy training in 2024.

For days when you need your practice to stabilize your mind, this strong class is for you. Enjoy slightly challenging holds in simple postures and not too much instruction to cultivate continuous presence. Highlights include standing postures, Bakasana (Crow Pose), Navasana (Boat Pose), and Sirsasana (Headstand) or Legs Up The Wall. This class previously aired on April 13, 2024.

This creative sequence combines flow style and strengthening elements to enliven all areas of your body. While designed for those in menopause, all are welcome. You’ll ground the nervous system and quiet your mind while moving briskly through Pigeon Pose, Sun Salutations and standing postures, shoulder openings with a strap (a towel or belt works), Planks, and Bird Dog, then Yin-style poses and breathwork (Sama Vritti and Kapalabhati) to finish. This practice encourages you to release thought patterns that don’t serve you so that you can tune in to your strength and support yourself. Flow through a strong sequence with Dog Split, Ustrasana (Camel Pose), Malasana (Squat) variations, Bird Dog holds, Utkatasana (Chair Pose) variations, standing postures, hip openers, and Krounchasana (Heron Pose).
